Joining in the fun are special guests Chick Reid and Tom McCamus, sharing some wonderful stories of the season. CHICK REID
Chick is entering her 46th year as a theatre professional and is delighted to be back at Westben! Her long and varied career includes thirteen seasons at the Stratford Festival performing in The Tempest, Napoli Milionaria, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Beaux Stratagem, Grapes of Wrath, Little Years Noises Off, No Exit; four seasons at Theatre Plus Toronto, including Saint Joan, Burn This, Abundance, Holiday, Crimes of the Heart; six seasons at the Shaw Festival, including Cavalcade, Back to Methuselah, The Women, Marathon 33, Peter Pan, War and Peace, The Madness of George III, Dracula, Getting Married, The Ladykillers, Devil’s Disciple and Sherlock Holmes: The Raven’s Curse Chick has also done extensive work across Canada and internationally, including Tarragon Theatre, Nightwood Theatre, Young People’s Theatre, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Grand Theatre, Neptune Theatre, Theatre New Brunswick, Sudbury Theatre Centre, Globe Theatre, Citadel Theatre, Westben Arts Festival Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Broadway. FILM/TELEVISION: most recently, Fairfield Road, Everything She Ever Wanted. TEACHING: eighteen years in the Dan School of Drama and Music at Queen’s University. Chick was honoured to be the 2108 Recipient of CAEA’s Life Membership Award for her contribution to the Performing Arts in Canada. She lives on a farm in Warkworth, Ontario with husband Tom McCamus which they share with their beloved Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers.
TOM MCCAMUS
Tom McCamus was born in Winnipeg. Tom has performed in theatres in Toronto and across Canada and has been a leading player at the Shaw and Stratford Festivals for the past 40 years, where he has played roles ranging from Peter Pan to MacHeath and Richard the Third to George the Third. He has been active in the film and television world appearing in such films as the Sweet Hereafter, Long Day’s Journey into Night and Room. He won the 1993 Genie award for Best Performance in a Leading Role for his work in I Love a Man in Uniform and is the recipient of an ACTRA award for his portrayal of Walter Gretzky in CBC’s the Walter Gretzky Story. Tom lives on a farm in Warkworth with his wife Chick Reid and their three dogs.
