20 Things You May Not Know About The Westben Audience

1..They are FABULOUS! 2. They participate 3. They bring their joy and share their joy 4. They come again and again 5. They pick up a strewn pieces of litter off the meadow 6. They are friendly 7. They chat with the performers after the concert. They chat with the volunteers 8. They share their wish lists with Brian and myself 9. They write letters, emails, Facebook posts on their Westben Experiences. 10. They like the air conditioned washrooms, a glass of wine or a beer at the Milk Shed, an ice cream at the Concession and they like to check out the Gift Shop. 11. Very few visit Gran Nan’s park behind the pond or know that it is called Gran Nan’s park or know where it is! Hint: Look for the north side of the willow tree 12. 24% of our audience comes from Trent Hills. 61% comes from the region (up to 1.5 hours away). 15% come from the rest of Ontario and out of province. NOTE: This is based on the postal codes of the ticket buyers. Based on the licence plates in the parking lot, the percentage of out of town guests is much higher. Our wonderful audience often buy companion tickets for visiting friends and relatives. 16% of our audience are group tours coming from Toronto, Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa, Campbellford, Cobourg, Belleville, Kingston, Peterborough and Ottawa. They love the Broadway shows but last year came to John McDermott, Colin Mochrie, British Invasion, Montreal Gospel Choir and of course Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat and Gershwin. 13. 24 % of ticket sales are to subscribers who buy at least 3 concerts per season 14. The last three years has seen the number of New Patrons to Westben rise to 30%. 15. Three top answers to “how did you hear about Westben” are Brochure, Recommendation and Web Site. Westben ambassadors are getting out there with the brochure and sharing the joy of Westben! Thank you. Marketing Assistant Alannah Haig is raising Westben’s online presence to new heights on Facebook and Instagram. 16. The Westben Audience loves to explore our community. They shop, explore, eat, sleep, relax and listen. 17. According to the Ontario TREIM report the Westben Audience will spend approximately $700,000 this summer in the local community 18. Over the last 20 years Westben has welcomed over 95,000 ticket holders and several hundred guest artists from around the world. 19. Many patrons have been coming every year since The Barn opened July 1, 2000. Several patrons tell me the number of concerts they have attended and many are over 100!. 20. Westben strives to bring people together through music. The audience is a huge part of this circle and every year Brian and I can’t wait to see familiar faces and welcome new ones.
