Caitlin Wood, one of our 'Kisses on Broadway' stars answers 5 Qs

We wanted to touch base with Soprano Caitlin Wood to find out what her experience has been working here to show readers Westben from a performer's perspective.   Kisses on Broadway opens TODAY and runs until July 23 - it marks Caitlin's Westben debut.

1.  Are you a coffee drinker? Where have you been going for your morning fix?

Morning coffee here in Campbellford comes with a beautiful view! My lovely billets Paula and Wayne have a stunning garden and that is where I enjoy some Java in the morning. With chirping birds, a cool breeze, and of course some delicious coffee it is the perfect way to start the day!

2.   What are your rehearsal breaks like at Westben?

Between rehearsals at the Westben Barn, I have been enjoying the wildlife that seems to be everywhere around the property. Being serenaded by chirping birds, while watching little squirrels scamper around the flowers has been wonderful but, for me, there has been another highlight; my heart has been captured by the little donkey that calls the property his home. When we have a break in our schedules I am sure to be found by the fence leading into the donkey's pen. It has also been an immense pleasure getting to know my fellow colleagues on and off the stage.  With such talented, passionate, and witty people I can guarantee that Kisses on Broadway is going to be a great show.

3.  In your short stay so far - this being your first visit to Westben - what are some highlights you'd like to share?

Although I've only been in Campbellford for a few days there have been many highlights. The one that sticks out is cycling through the country and enjoying the beautiful scenery. My billets have told me that there has been news of a mama bear and her cubs in the neighbourhood. Although it would be amazing to see them I can't claim that my cycling speed is exceptionally high;  therefore I'd prefer if my rides were bear free.

4.  Anything you'd like to share about Kisses on Broadway?

Singing some hits from the Broadway genre has been a tonne of fun! Recently I've been working on strictly opera so getting the chance to sing fun tunes from Kiss Me Kate, Carousel, and West Side Story has been a treat.
